 Lost Mitten

Have you ever been walking around in the wintertime, and see a random glove or mitten laying on the ground? I always wonder who is belongs too.. I seem to lose one of my gloves every year..
NEVER FAILS! lol

I made this adorable winter card featuring Linnie Blooms Large Mitten Shape..  I painted the shape with Lindy's Stamp Gang in "Frosry Forest Green" then added some May Arts Pom-Pom Trim.. I wanted just a touch of more color, so I found a small crochet flower in my stash, added a pearl for the center.. I then tucked the mitten in some raggedy burlap  trim and a few pieces of floral sprays.. My background is a  kraft color card base and a few embossed snowflakes in silver.. I topped everything off with some Sno-Tek :)

Thanks for visiting my blog and Linnie Blooms blog today! Be sure to check back often!

"A Shabby Christmas"
One of the new trends this year has been Shabby Chic..

With that in mind, I decided to make this cute 3 in 1 embellishment..

It can be used as a adorable decoration for my burlap bag, ready to be filled with goodies.. I attached it with a small clothespin..

It also serves as a To: and From: tag , so my gift gets into the right hands..

Lastly, after all the great gift giving, It can be used as an ornament on the tree :)

I used the cute Linnie Blooms Canvas Stocking.. It's such a good size!! I left it natural and only darkened the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Stain..

Next, I used some little scraps of lace, beads, and pom-pom trim from  my stash.. (everybody has those little snippets around :) I added a few flowers and a small piece of a snowflake Christmas ornament.. Topped it off with just a dab of Snow-Tek for a "snowy" look..

Thank You for stopping by and checking out Linnie Blooms DT Blog!!
These canvas pieces are soooo much fun to play with.. If your new here, take a look around and see what other FUN projects the Design Team have came up with :)

"WinterLand"

Wintertime in Indiana is like any other season in Indiana, You never know what you'll wake up to.. As a child, I remember I would wake up for school.. see snow and then listen to the local radio stations for news of school closings :D ..  SNOW DAY!! Back to my cozy bed!! Later, I would stare out the windows, and muster up the nerve to go explore this "WinterLand" After 30 minutes of  adding layers of clothes, scarfs, gloves, hats, boots.. I was ready.. Stepping out on the porch, a blast of frigid air instantly freezes my nose hairs.. BRRRR! Should I go back in?
Then I see it! The BEAUTY! This beautiful snow, so pure and white!! The trees are iced over creating a sparkling white and blue oasis..  I stand in AWE.. Thinking, just yesterday, there wasn't a flake on the ground.. The only sound to be heard, is the slight crackling of the ice on the trees, and a few sparrows singing..  After exploring the 7 acre farm.. I venture back into the house.. Strip off layer after layer of clothes, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and get cozy on the couch with my mama <3 .. These childhood memories inspired me to make this beautiful winter scene..
The Base of my project is a chipboard box lid.. It was long and narrow, perfect for a scene such as this.. I painted it white, and added vintage music paper for a background.. Then I mixed up an icy blue color using my Folkart Metallic Paints (it's opaque and shiny).. I glued snowflake ornaments, iridescent beads and some lace onto my base..  After that I added pieces of different sprays (some snow covered, some glitter covered, some with crystals) to make my "tree branches" .. I placed painted roses (with the same icy blue paint mixture) a few white flowers, and then a broken small snowflake ornament I had.. I used the same vintage music paper and cut into 3 stripes to make banners, then wove them into the background.. I finished my background with a key on the right side.. <3 Perfect!

For the sparrows, I used the Linnie Blooms Bird Shapes.. and small Tim Holtz metal wings.. I painted both with Folkart Metallic paint in Champaign.. Then I added distress inks in Tea Dye and Wild Honey on the tail and underbelly of the birds.. Next I used a black sharpie to add details to the birds, then darkened them up with black paint and a liner brush... I also added black paint to the tips of their wings... Let them dry, then hot glued the wings to the bird canvas shapes..
Then I hot glued (i use hot glue for everything :D) the birds perched upon my branches..

PERFECT!!! I had this project invisioned in my mind for a few weeks.. It turned out just like i imagined.. I was sooo happy to be able to create this for Linnie Blooms..  Every time I look at it, Im reminded of those beautiful cold mornings in my "Winterland" on the farm :) Thanks for reading my little story.. Hope you enjoyed!!

 Hello Again!!
Im in full Christmas Mode! I just love making ornaments for Christmas! Every year I go to an ornament swap party.. It's sooo much fun! Good friends, good food, and good times!! I always hand make mine, but it's not necessary :) Last year there was a battle over my ornament :) Hoping for the same this year :D

For this ornament, I used a Linnie Blooms Canvas Flourish Pocket.. I love making tags and pockets. I thought this would be perfect for adding these cute "Our Daily Bread Stamps" on the "Spellbinders Bookmarks Die" .. All the trim I used is from a Micheals trim set in red and white..
For the canvas pocket, I left it natural adding just a light distressing on the edges (Tim Holtz Tea Dye. Distress Ink) , then on the base of the pocket I used "7 Gypsies Santa's Journey Collection", (6x6 Pad)
I used a Lime Green card stock and a Red card stock to frame my embossed "Inkadinkado" Stamp.. I used the same green card stock and white embossing powder for the tags as well..  I finished it off with the Micheals Trims and a Wooden Button from my stash..

Thank you so much for stopping by the Linnie Blooms Blog and Checking out all the great projects!! These canvas pieces are sooooo much fun to work with :D Also don't forget to check out my blog as well!!

"Tis the Season!

 Hello All!!

Christmas is just around the corner and I'm getting a head start!! I always take pride in how I package my presents.. This is a 3" x 6 1/2" tag that doubles as a Christmas card as well.. I give out tags like this every year.. Alot of my friends and family like to put them on their Christmas trees as ornaments :)
I used a 7 gypsies paper for a background.. and added a bit of lace trim at the bottom and top :) Then I layered a snowflake ornament with a Linnie Blooms Evergreen Tree Shape.. I colored the tree with Crushed Olive distress ink from Tim Holtz..   I then placed a Linnie Blooms small Heart Shape on top of that (painted with red acrylic paint),  topped it off with a button and twine, and some Snow-Tek... I embossed my "Merry Christmas" sentiment with glittery embossing powder on kraft card stock, then added a few red roses ...

Hope you all enjoyed my Christmas Tag!!

So Thankful!

Hello! When is the last time you noticed the beauty around you? I am so very thankful for the air I breathe, the beautiful colors of fall, and just all the little things we sometimes take for granted..

With that in mind.. I created this mixed media "folkart-ish" canvas..  I live in the heart of farm
country so my inspiration came from a country drive I took.. All the rolling hills, crops ready to be harvested, pumpkin patches, and of course the changing trees, all in different stages.. It's all is soo beautiful..

I painted my background with acrylic paint, then detailed with oil pastel sticks... Later I stamped a few swirls and music notes for interest.

I used Linnie Blooms Canvas Tree Shape to add texture for the "country feel".. I painted it with acrylic paint as well..

I added Linnie Blooms Leaf Shapes (colored with acrylic paint and distress inks)  to the top corner..

I finished with pumpkin, roses, moss, a few touches of orange, and a quote..

Hope you enjoyed my last fall project!! On to Christmas!!! Dont forget to check out Linnie Blooms Shop for all her mixed media goodness!

On this fall piece I painted the wood base black, then added a thin layer of clear tacky glue, then painted a light brown over the glue to achieve this crackle finish.. I added a brown burlap trim.. a few fall leaves, a few wooden buttons, and a burlap flower

I topped it off with an adorable Linnie Blooms Owl shape canvas piece.. I inked the raw canvas with orange and red inks.. added some flower petals as wings, then finished with 2 button eyes.. How cute is this!!

On this next piece, I again painted the wood base black.. I then embossed the whole front with glittery black embossing powder.. Added some lace trimmings, an iridescent flower bead strand, and some Christmas Roses..

Next I added some Linnie Blooms leaves inked with Crushed Olive Distress ink.. To finish "Frosty's Hat".. I added SnowTek on the roses and top and bottom of the hat.. I just can't wait to put this on my Christmas Tree!!

Hello all! I'm back again with this super fun mixed media canvas.. I was feeling a little blue, and needed some bright colors and tried some fun new techniques.. I used paint, ink, stamps, texture paste, and of course Linnie Blooms Mixed Media Heart Shape!! I love how I turned the heart into a balloon so my cares and worries could float away ;) .. I used acrylic paint to color the balloon and embellished  with a rosette trim and twine..  A quote, some doodeling, and a few highlights finished it off.. Ahhh.. A Glimpse Of Fall!

Hello Everyone!! Here in Indiana, the trees are starting to change, the fields are almost ready to harvest, and the crisp fresh air tickles your nose.. I absolutely love this time of the year! Hoodies, comfy socks, hot chocolate, and Bonfires!!!

I made this cute card and envelope set using Linnie Blooms canvas shapes.. The card is set on a simple craft card stock, layered with a piece from the My Minds Eye "Darling Dear" 6x6 paper stack..  I lightly distressed the Linnie Blooms small canvas blank with Tim Holts distress ink "Vintage Photo" as well as Linnie Blooms Pocket shape... Layered those on top of my card base.. Added some fall flowers, buttons and ribbons.. Used a few Tim Holtz tickets to add into my pocket..

The envelope is made from wide Jute trim I purchased from Hobby Lobby, I just cut, folded, and glued the sides with hot glue.. SOOO SIMPLE! I topped it off with a Linnie Blooms Flower shape, sprayed with Inkadinkado Spray Ink in Terra Cotta, a Linnie Blooms Leaf shape (colored with green acrylic paint)  and added a wooden button and twine.. WaaaaLaaa!!!!!!! Now I have a beautiful card and envelope, ready to wish a special someone with warm fall wishes :)

You Are My Sunshine!!!

Here is a sweet canvas piece I created using Linnie Blooms long canvas piece..  Such a fun blank to work on! It measures 12x5 and is only 4.99 for 2! Great Deal...

I painted the blank with acrylic paint and also did some stamping..  Added a piece of "paneled" paper from Paper Studios for my background.. I Layered a paper doily and a few laces for texture .. I rolled up one corner of the paper to expose the canvas, and to make a base for my roses.. The large roses are handmade by me with a 5 petal fiskar punch.. and the small are Wild Orchid Craft roses... I inked a Linnie Blooms Large Butterfly canvas piece with Tim Holtz Broken China, embellished with pearls and small flower buttons... and some rosette trim from hobby lobby (inked with Tim Holtz Wild Honey of course)  also added pearls to the trim, A die cut sentiment from K&Co ( fastened by buttons)  and some chipboard hearts finished it off... Then I tied it all together with dabs of white paint and touches of Tim Holtz Wild Honey Distress Ink.. Hope you all like it! Don't forget to stop by Linnie Blooms shop to see all the wonderful products she offers, as well as the Linnie Blooms facebook page.. Great contest going on there!
